The Kildare Hotel, at The K Club, Ireland’s First AA 5 Red Star Hotel, is located in the heart of the idyllic Irish countryside on the banks of the River Liffey in Straffan, Co.Kildare.
Venue Overview
This long standing member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts offers the very best of pampering, leisure and golf facilities and is only 30 minutes from Dublin. Built in 1832, on the banks of the River Liffey, the original house was modeled on a French Château and still retains many of its original architectural features, art work and antiques. It opened as a luxury hotel in 1991 and was Ireland’s first AA Five Red Star Property. To this day it continues to deliver the very highest levels of service and standards in terms of its food and beverage offerings, golf, leisure and spa treatments.
The mature estate covers an impressive 550 acres and also features a stunning Victorian walled garden and fishing on the River Liffey which runs through the resort. The resident ghillees offer fly fishing on the river and horse riding and clay pigeon shooting are also available along with a range of different country pursuits.

Superior Rooms: boasts individually hand painted en-suite bathrooms and exquisitely decorated bedrooms set in what can only be described as spectacular surroundings in the 550 acre country resort in Kildare.
Deluxe Rooms: with approximately 390-square-feet of luxurious bliss encompassing a comfortable king bed.
Liffey Deluxe Rooms: through two wide windows, each of the beautifully appointed rooms feature views overlooking the River Liffey, the magnificent gardens and woodland of the resort and the famous 17th hole which runs along the river bank; named after the 'half-moon' as it follows the contour of the River Liffey.
Liffey Suites: each Liffey Suite offers breathtaking views of the River Liffey; they are elegantly decorated using the very best of Irish fabrics whilst taking it's design influences from the French style chateaus.
Hotel Suites: 5-star luxury hotel suites; boast 790-square-feet and are characterized with a commanding view of the resort. The Suites are all meticulously decorated featuring original artwork and photography. The living area includes a dining room table seating 4/6 people and a sitting area consisting of a sofa and armchairs.
Presidential Suites: the magnificent Presidential Suite showcases a stylish and tranquil space, elegantly decorated and consists of a large bedroom with a luxurious interconnecting living room. Guests will enjoy beautiful views of the 550 acre resort in the heart of the magnificent Kildare countryside.
The Imperial Suite: for the discriminating guest seeking the ultimate country escape, The Imperial Suite offers the very best in 5 star luxury; consisting of a master bedroom, spacious drawing room, and private dining room, The Imperial Suite has its own private kitchen - perfect for entertaining.
