Venue Overview
The Lodge at Uxmal is a step beyond the Mayaland concept of upscale accommodations in a traditional setting.
The Lodge offers total immersion in the Yucatan Maya experience: an enclave of untamed nature in the shadow of ancient Uxmal, thatch-roofed villas that seem an extension of the landscape and archaeologists excavating on the grounds.
The Lodge brings you the land and its people: Yucatan yesterday and today.
Resort Amenities
Restaurants, Bars, & Lounges
Dining at the Lodge is a unique experience. The restaurant's a la carte menu includes Mexican Classics, international standbys and a selection of regional cooking - a cuisine so very different from "traditional" Mexican fare it might be from another country.
Yucatecan cooks are adept at blending herbs and spices into a range of sauces and sassy marinades.
Regular menu changes keep things interesting. Breakfast is a buffet of infinite variety; and the hotel bar stocks an endless list of the nation's finest tequilas.
Ethnic dance troupes perform during the season, and guitar trios play the music of Yucatan's most beloved composers.

Room Types
The Lodge at Uxmal is the latest addition to the Mayaland Resorts family. Opened in 1997, its 40 rooms and suites are distributed among five, two-story villas built with materials native to the region; most specially the handsome hardwoods for which this part of the world is known.
The rooms are individual masterpieces whose appointments are handpicked from the work of local artisans. The generous use of rich, aged mahogany is enhanced by the addition of ethnic ceramics, textiles, and artwork.
Doors are intricately carved with Mayan motifs; stained glass windows set the rooms aglow with understated color. Suites, Junior Suites and master bedrooms are available.

Room Amenities
All accommodations have air-conditioning, ceiling fans, servibar and satellite TV; suites include private Jacuzzis and king-size beds. And, in keeping with the customs of the region, rocking chairs and hammocks await your pleasure on the terrace.
Villas look out over a central courtyard flanked by patches of emerald lawn, acacia, and wild tamarind trees. The pool is rimmed with sun beds; the adjacent palapa, a spacious, open-air restaurant is built in the architectural style of tropical Yucatan. Exploration of the grounds can be done on foot.
Activities
Lodge guests enjoy full privileges at the neighboring sister hotel, Hacienda Uxmal, its two pools, outdoor grill. Tickets to Uxmal's Light and Sound Show, staged nightly at the park, are available at the front desk at either hotel.
The Lodge is just 30 meters from the entrance to Uxmal and archaeologists have unearthed several important finds in the gardens including the only example of a Mayan residential zone bordering a ceremonial center fount to date in the Yucatan.
From the balcony of the first villas, the view of the Pyramid of the Magician is spectacular and a constant reminder of the glory of Uxmal.
The site was declared a United Nations Heritage Site in 1997 and is the kingpin of the large concentration of Mayan archaeological sites in the world. Tours can be arranged from the hotel to the nearby sites along the Puuc Route, 19th century haciendas, colonial towns and cities, Mayan villages, nature reserves and caves.
Jeeps are even available for a safari along a forest trail to the Mayan village of San Simón (nine miles away), Oxkintok archaeological zone and the recently discovered Mayan site of Xkipche. The Lodge at Uxmal is the perfect base for exploring the real Yucatan.
