Our Story
Note from the Bride and Groom
It was October of 2021, Markie and Josh both worked at Tinker Federal Credit Union. Josh had worked there a month prior to Markie starting at Tinker, so josh could see who was being brought in for interviews. One day, Markie had an interview and Josh noticed her immediately, and was hoping she would land the job. A few weeks later, Markie was starting her first day at Tinker. Josh’s office was facing towards Markie and her co-workers stations and at one point, he looked up and saw Markie just staring at him, and that’s when Josh knew he had Markie “In the bag”… so he thinks. Weeks went by and no conversations were had between the two, both nervous to make the first move to approach. One day after work, Josh mustard up the courage to send a “DM” to Markie on facebook and the rest was history. After the first day of talking on facebook, Josh walked up to Markie and hit her with the most lamest pick-up line ever… “working hard or hardly working” and Markie definitely let Josh know that was one of the worst pick-up lines ever! But how could josh not be nervous approaching such a beautiful girl! Even though the pick-up line was lame, deep down Josh knew that pick-up line had worked! Things moved pretty quickly and on October 29th, Josh took Markie out for dinner and popped the first big question “ will you be my girlfriend?”. During their first months and year together, they got their first puppy together, a mini Aussie named Ava, who was 2 months old at the time of getting her. She has been a huge blessing in their lives, along with Markie’s dog, chewy, who she had already had before Markie and Josh started dating! During their relationship, they have traveled to Dallas, Texas multiple times for Dallas Stars games and weekend getaway trips. Both Josh and Markie absolutely love the beach and Florida, having been to Anna Maria Island and Clearwater together! Which explains why they are getting married on the beach! Fast forward almost two years later, Josh and Markie traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii with their two good friends, Bree and Tyler in September of 2023. Josh and Bree had been planning this trip as a proposal spot since April of 2023. On September 4th on a Monday, Josh finally popped the 2nd big question to his beautiful and sassy princess.. “will you Marry me?”. In that moment, Josh being in that nervous environment, had basically forgotten what he was saying to Markie during his proposal speech… another moment of melting on the spot! Nothing new for Josh when it comes to big moments with him and Markie. In the end Markie ended up saying yes to her 5-star studded man and the two began planning the rest of their lives together. We can’t wait to celebrate our big day with you guys at our wedding ceremony and reception on April 8th, 2025!
